Asking Gary

Skip the menus — just ask, in plain English, and Gary moves the map for you.

  1. 1Tap Gary and type a question like “where can I fish from the bank near me?”
  2. 2Gary answers and drops numbered pins on the real, mapped spots it found.
  3. 3Tap a pin to open that spot’s card; tap a suggestion to fly the map there.
  4. 4Gary recommends real, mapped places — never invented ones — so you can trust the pins.

Checking regulations & conditions

See the rules that apply to a water and how it’s fishing right now.

  1. 1Tap a water body to open its card.
  2. 2Read the current regulations — seasons, limits, and gear — pulled from state agencies.
  3. 3Check live conditions where available: flow, water temperature, and tides for tidal water.
  4. 4Always confirm the rules with the official state authority before you fish — regulations change.

  2. 2Turn on public-bank access to see legally-accessible shoreline segments.

Reading the fire map (Guidepole Fire)

See what's burning, where the smoke is, and the air quality around you.

  1. 1Open Guidepole Fire and allow location so the map centers on you.
  2. 2Turn on the layers you want — active wildfires, satellite hot spots, smoke plumes, air quality, and red-flag warnings.
  3. 3Tap anywhere to open the card: nearest fires, smoke overhead, the current air quality, and a plain read on whether you're in danger.
  4. 4Wildfire, smoke and air-quality data is nationwide; always follow official evacuation orders and local authorities.

  2. 2Read the nearest active fire, its distance and direction, and whether the wind is pushing it toward you.
  3. 3Check the air quality (AQI) and the smoke outlook — when the air is likely to clear.
  4. 4This is awareness, not an emergency service — always heed official evacuation orders.
