Delete your account
Last updated October 18, 2026
You can delete your Guidepole account at any time, from any of our apps (Guidepole Fish, Guidepole Fire and Guidepole Hike) or by email. One account covers every Guidepole app, so deleting it removes it everywhere.
Delete it in the app
- iPhone and iPad: open the menu (top left of the map), tap Settings, then tap Delete account and confirm.
- Android: open the menu (top left of the map), tap Settings, scroll to Delete account, tap it and confirm.
- You're signed out right away on every device.
Or ask us by email
Email [email protected] from the address on your account, with the subject "Delete my account". If you signed in with a phone number or Sign in with Apple's private relay, tell us that address or number so we can find the account. We confirm by email once it's done, normally within a few days.
What happens to your data
- Your account is disabled immediately.
- After a 30-day grace period we permanently delete or de-identify your personal information: your profile, email or phone number, saved spots and lists, alert locations, tracks, catch logs, photos, notes, reviews, and your questions to Gary. Signing back in during those 30 days restores the account.
- Content you shared publicly, such as a review or a public catch, is removed with the account.
- Billing records may be kept where the law requires it, for example for tax rules.
- Anonymous, aggregated data that can't identify you may be kept to improve the maps.
Deleting your account doesn't cancel a subscription bought through the App Store or Google Play. Cancel it in your phone's subscription settings so you aren't charged again.
