Cookie Policy
Last updated: June 2026
This Cookie Policy explains how Guidepole LLC (“Guidepole,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) uses cookies and similar technologies on the Guidepole platform at guidepole.com. This policy should be read alongside our Privacy Policy.
1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files that are placed on your device (computer, tablet, or mobile phone) when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work efficiently and to provide information to website owners. Similar technologies include localStorage, sessionStorage, and web beacons.
2. Cookies & Technologies We Use
Guidepole uses a minimal set of cookies and browser storage technologies. We prioritize your privacy and do not use advertising or tracking technologies.
2.1 Essential Authentication (localStorage)
| Technology | Purpose | Duration | Type |
|---|---|---|---|
| JWT access token | Maintains your authenticated login session | Until logout or expiration | Essential |
| JWT refresh token | Allows session renewal without re-authentication | Until logout or expiration | Essential |
These authentication tokens are stored in your browser's localStorage and are required for the Platform to function. They cannot be disabled while using authenticated features.
2.2 Cloudflare Security Cookies
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration | Type |
|---|---|---|---|
| __cf_bm | Bot detection and DDoS protection | 30 minutes | Essential |
| cf_clearance | Records that you passed a security challenge | Up to 1 year | Essential |
Cloudflare cookies are set by our content delivery and security provider. These cookies are essential for protecting the Platform from malicious traffic and cannot be disabled.
2.3 Analytics Cookies (Optional)
If you consent to analytics cookies, we use Google Analytics (GA4) to understand how visitors use the Platform. These cookies are only set after you opt in via our cookie consent banner. They are not loaded if you decline or choose “Necessary Only.”
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration | Type |
|---|---|---|---|
| _ga | Distinguishes unique visitors | 2 years | Analytics |
| _ga_* | Maintains session state | 2 years | Analytics |
We configure Google Analytics with IP anonymization enabled. We do not use GA data for advertising purposes, and we do not share GA data with third parties beyond Google's standard data processing.
2.4 Cookie Consent Preference
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration | Type |
|---|---|---|---|
| gp_cookie_consent | Stores your cookie preference choices | 1 year | Essential |
3. What We Do Not Use
We want to be transparent about what we do not do with cookies and tracking technologies:
- No advertising cookies: We do not use cookies from advertising networks (Google Ads, Meta Pixel, etc.) and do not serve targeted advertisements
- No cross-site tracking: We do not track your activity across other websites or participate in any cross-site tracking programs
- No social media pixels: We do not embed social media tracking pixels (Facebook Pixel, Twitter Pixel, etc.)
- No data selling: We do not sell any data collected through cookies or similar technologies to any third party
4. How to Manage Cookies
You can manage cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to:
- View what cookies are stored on your device
- Delete individual cookies or all cookies
- Block all cookies or third-party cookies
- Configure cookie preferences on a per-site basis
Please note that if you block or delete essential cookies (authentication tokens), you will be logged out of the Platform and will need to re-authenticate to access your account.
To clear localStorage data (where authentication tokens are stored), you can use your browser's developer tools or clear your browsing data and select “Cached images and files” or “Site data.”
Browser-Specific Instructions
- Chrome: Settings > Privacy and Security > Cookies and other site data
- Firefox: Settings > Privacy & Security > Cookies and Site Data
- Safari: Preferences > Privacy > Manage Website Data
- Edge: Settings > Privacy, search, and services > Cookies and site permissions
5. Do Not Track Signals
Some browsers offer a “Do Not Track” (DNT) setting. Because we do not use tracking cookies or participate in cross-site tracking, our practices are consistent with DNT signals regardless of whether your browser sends them.
6. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated “Last updated” date. If we introduce new categories of cookies (such as analytics or advertising cookies), we will provide prominent notice and, where required by law, obtain your consent.
